Shattered Bangladesh notch a must-win nail-biter

An ecstatic and emotional day for Shakib, a day when he was brought into tears before his final say. Few days ago a team which had suffered a huge blow at home in front of their own people would go on to snatch victory against the strong English team was nothing more than unlikely. But it was a must-win contest for them. They had in their minds what sort of reaction would they suffer this time around as previous defeat ended up in having their homes attacked at he hands of violent spectators.
Winning toss and not batting first was quite an interesting decision. But this is the beauty of cricket. You are captaining your side at home and you know the conditions which way exactly they would turn and you build your mind accordingly. So did Bangladesh captain and England were sent into the center to bat on. It looked Bangladesh had perfectly crafted their plans to ball that compact and immaculate line so as not to give any room to the England batsmen which would allow them swing their arms and score runs freely. The bowlers did so well in tightening up things that hardly did England batsmen advance the run rate and wickets kept on falling. Only that resolute Jonathan Trott and the latest entrant Eoin Morgan read the conditions perfectly and settled to play their natural hand. Both scored fifites before paving their way back to pavillion one after the other within 5 overs to end a brilliant 109 runs partnership between them. England tale again started tumbling and their efforts were stopped of the last ball of the innings for a below-par 225.
That meager target really lifted the spirits of the troops marching to achieve it. They were eying a perfect stage to the victory which had initially been set by their bowlers. Openers did well to post a good decent start of their proceedings. Tamim played a short blistering knock before he was dismissed at a team total of 52 in 9th over. Losing couple of more quick wickets it was their captain to join Imrul to paddle up the innings. Both started slow but composed a handful partnership of 72 which proved pivotal.
Once again after that shocking Imrul run out the innings started to demolish. England bowlers did well in keeping things tight and pressure kept on mounting on Bangladesh batsmen. wickets were falling and Bangladeshi audience were made to their toes and bite their nails all around. Tense moments were not ready to die and the pressure continued to rise. But then it were Mahmoodullah and Shafiul who were to bring for their team that dignity and faith they had lost earlier until the coin was tossed at the onset of this game. Both piled up an extraordinary partnership of 58 runs and the victory was snatched from the hands of England team in 49 overs.

Ross Taylor Blitz Spanked Pakistan to Huge Defeat.

Well there is a lot of  noise surrounding me off my buddies yelling at 50 over horrible showcase of Kamran Akmal. But it was not all one should be talking about today's match played at Pallekelle Stadium. It was actuallly the late blitz from Ross Taylor that laid the foundation of Pakistan's misery which was yet to follow. What spectators witnessed was one of the cleanest robust hitting of all times. Pakistan after asked to bowl started quite modestly. Runs were not coming easily for New Zealand and wickets continued to fall gradually. Ross Taylor should take Kamran Akmal to dinner for giving him so much favor by dropping him twice in the same over. But caution here: Kamran should be aware of Shoaib whom twice he punched hard by dropping Taylor. When 6th NZ wicket fell the score was a modest 210 in 45.5 overs. Despite being the right time for Pakistan it turned out to be the turning point for NZ. Ross Taylor collected some superficial powers and started to spank Shoaib hard and collected 28 runs form his one over. The next over from Razzaq proved even more productive and Taylor amassed 30 runs of it. New Zealand closed their proceedings at 302 for 7. NZ yielded 92 incredible runs in the last 4.1 overs. Ross Taylor scored 131 notout.

When Pakistan came on to bat no one had idea in his mind that a team which was yet unbeaten in the tournament would perish and disperse like pearls of a broken necklace. Pakistan indeed need a solid batting coach and that orphanage was materialized as top four batsmen thrown away their wickets playing across the line of the ball. None of the batting line up could withstand that immaculate bowling performance from New Zealanders and wickets continued to fall in a quick succession. Desperate partnership between Umer Akmal and Abdul Razzaq tried to tie up the threads in a vain pursuit of that huge target. Both played well while Razzaq missed some precious ones and tows by running slow between the wickets. But it was New Zealand's fielding which at no stage of the innings let Pakistani batsmen steal those vital singles that most of the batsmen like to fancy in the middle overs. Eventually both fell in desperation  and soon it was curtains for Pakistan. Pakistan were cleaned up for 192 and lost by 110 runs.

South Africa fell short in a Low Scoring Thriller.

If one remembers that sensational cricket match won by Ireland few days ago I reckon he would definitely have enjoyed today's encounter between South Africa and England at Chennai as well. It was a low scoring game for England struggled in their 1st innings ahead of the versatile bowling attack from South Africa. At no stage in their inning did they look to pace up their proceedings. Losing both their openers in the very first over and 3rd wicket shortly after it all looked like the stage had been set for SA to the victory. But then there was a calm and steady partnership between Trott and Bopara that lit the candle of hope for England. But again when things were looking going the right way it was Trott who fell victim to the inform Imran Tahir. Straightaway after his dismissal South Africans turned things back in their way and all of the 10 Englishmen were sent home for a paltry 171.
South Africa started very well in their reply. Both openers started scoring easily in no hurry. Smith struggled a bit but it was Amla who continued the great run of form and composed a sedate 42 before he edged an inswinger from Broad to his stumps. Graem swann took the ball and along with Michael Yardy started to attack from both ends. Soon after Kallis's dismissal no one did really chip in and wickets started tumbling. Needing 15 with 3 wickets still in hand the English bowlers started building that enormous pressure on Van Wyk and Steyn which lead them fall victim of the deliveries of the day. Final wicket went to Broad and it were England who emerged victorious out of that enthralling encounter. South Africa cheaply refuted to negate their impression of losing so many matches in tense pressure situations. Andrew Straus must have breathed huge sigh of relief as this time there were no miscued hits to put his shaky hands under the ball which would eventually have added to their recent misfortunes in limited overs games.
